The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. The contact stated while driving 30 MPH, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact restarted the vehicle; however, the failure returned soon after restart. The dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that there were no recalls on the vehicle related to the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.
These issues have been spotadic since I aquired the vehicle in october of 2021. Not infrequently the ABS system feels like it is trying to engage at low speeds with light braking such as in a parking lot. This also happens after coasting(no gas, no brake no cruise control))and then accelerating The radio will randomly stop playing or begin playing. The turn signal indicator chimes randomly stop chiming when the turn signal is in use though the interioir indicator light will flash normally. I have not been able to stop when this occurs with the turn signal still active to get out and verify it the turn signal is actually working At random times a loud clacking sound will come from behind the dash in the general vicinity of the radio and there will be no out put from the dash vents until the clacking stops. The use of any controls whether radio or climate does not seem to cause this nor will it stop it. Actuator doorb and/or solenoid perhaps?

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET MONTE CARLO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V355000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) BY WHALEN CHEVROLET INC. (1258 NY-29, GREENWICH, NY 12834, (518) 692-2241). HOWEVER, IT FAILED TO PROVIDE A PERMANENT REMEDY. WHILE DRIVING OVER A BUMP IN THE ROAD, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND SHUT OFF. IN ADDITION, THERE WERE INSTANCES WHEN THE KEY HAD TO BE MANEUVERED BACK AND FORTH IN ORDER TO BE REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION. THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN DUE TO VARIOUS WARNING INDICATORS AND GAUGES FLICKERING AND THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO START. THE CONTACT PLANNED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER FOR SERVICING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE REAR WINDOW DEFOGGER NO LONGER WORKED. THE REASON BEING THAT THE REAR DEFROSTER WIRING HAD BURNED AT THE CONNECTOR BLOCK. CONNECTOR BLOCK IS LOCATED BEHIND THE PASSENGERS SIDE KICK PANEL. THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED A FIRE TO THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE. THERE ARE VIDEOS ON THE INTERNET SHOWING HOW TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM SO IT MUST HAPPEN FREQUENTLY! YOU CAN SEE WHERE THE BURN OCCURED IN THE ATTACHED PHOTO. I REPAIRED THIS ON 3/9/2018, HOWEVER, IT HAPPENED AT LEAST TWO YEARS AGO.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INTERIOR LIGHTING AND INDICATORS ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WERE ILLUMINATED AFTER THE KEY HAD BEEN REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER AN UNKNOWN RECALL REGARDING THE IGNITION, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CONCORD CHEVROLET (1330 CONCORD AVE, CONCORD, CA 94520 (925) 682-6400) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
THE TRANMISSION 4T65E HD IS ALWAYS TEARING UP... THE CARFAX ON MY CAR SHOWS IT WAS REPLACE IN 2008 AND IM SAYING IT HAS LESS THEN 100 K ON THE TRANSMISSION THEY PUT IN AND ITS OUT AGAIN
LOOKS LIKE GM HAS HAD AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH CLEAR COATING PEELING OFF THE WHEELS THEY USE ON THEIR CARS, MY MONTE CARLO HAS 10,000 MILES ON IT AND THE WHEELS LOOK LIKE THEY HAVE BEEN SITTING AT THE BOTTOM OF THE OCEAN SINCE 2006 THIS MIGHT NOT BE A SAFETY ISSUE, BUT IT IS A APPEARANCE ISSUE AND THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD HAVE THIS ISSUE FIXED
AT A COMPLETE STOP. WHEN TAKING OFF CAR WILL HESITATE AND THEN JOLT FORWARD VERY HARD BEFORE TAKING OFF. ALSO DASH COMING UP FROM THE SEAMS

THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT SUSTAINED HEAD AND BACK INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AND REPAIRED. ON A SEPARATE OCCASION, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE DRIVER'S DOOR OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN AND DETAILS OF THE CRASH WERE UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.

VEHICLE DOES NOTHING WHEN YOU HIT THE GAS FROM TAKE OFF THEN SLAMS INTO GEAR JOLTING FORWARD. DOES NOT WANT TO SHIFT BETWEEN 3RD AND 4TH GEAR. SEEMS TO BE A DRIVE ISSUE. CONSTANTLY SAYS REPLACE REMOTE KEY LESS ENTRY BATTERY. DEALER HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIX KEY LESS ENTRY ISSUE.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,000.

THIS HAPPENS NO MATTER IF I COME TO A COMPLETE STOP OR NOT BUT ONLY HAPPENS WHEN THE TRANSMISSION TRIES TO GO FROM 1ST TO 2ND. THE PROBLEM OCCURS ABOUT 50% OF THE TIME. IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW FAR INTO THE DRIVE I AM. HAPPENS WHEN FIRST STARTED DRIVING FOR THE DAY AND AFTER A 40 MINUTE DRIVE. VEHICLE ONLY HAS 62,000 MILES AND THE CAR IS NEVER DRIVEN HARD!
